Large air compressors are a necessity for many types of repair and fabrication shops from millwork shops, to auto body repair shops, machine shops, etc.. This particular machine shop was on a small footprint and there was no place to “hide” the compressor, and the noise was making it stressful and difficult to work and communicate on the shop floor. Our solution was simple, to surround the compressor with acoustic panels on all sides, including the ceiling. Now, you can remove your hearing protection in the work area and have a normal conversation. To be clear, the panels don’t insulate you from the sound, they absorb it, while still allowing full access to the machinery.
